To his Worship Thos Ar Corlett Vicar General etc etc etc

The humble petition of Wm Mylrea of the parish of Lonan

Sheweth that your petitioner'’s wife Ann Mylrea otherwise Fargher in and about the month of November last past departed this life intestate leaving your petitioner and five children namely William, Thomas, Ann now the wife of Thomas Topliss who resides in England, Margaret the wife of John Kewley of Lonan and Jane Mylrea surviving –

That it is necessary that an administrator be appointed and sworn [suprndint] the estate

Therefore your petitioner prays that he or some other fit person be sworn to administer the said Estate and petitioner will pray JCD La Mothe for the petitioner

NOTES

1. Mylrea's Terrace, Laxey
2. Ann was the daughter of John Fargher of Baldrine, and baptised in 1780
3. In 1804, she married William Mylrea snr, the third and youngest son of Edward Mylrea snr & Dorothy Fargher als Kewley. William was baptised 16th July 1780
4. William Mylrea snr was descibed variously as a tailor, hatter and a publican
5. Five children were all born in Lonan: Ann (b1807 m Thomas Topliss), Margaret (b1809 m John Kewley), William (b1811 m Jane Killip), Thomas (b1817 went to the US), Jane (b1819 might have married James Faragher)
6. Husband William snr remarried in 1840, to Ann Cowley als Gelling. They were both widowed - William was 60 and Ann 31, with two children at the time of the marriage
7. William & his second wife had one child named Catherine b1840, who married James Clague, a miner, in 1860 in Lonan
8. William snr died 1850

1817 A 6 FARGHER John = Petn by Isabella Quilliam (Lonan, w/o John Quilliam now off island, d/o Margret Fargher exex of John Fargher of Baldrine) that Margt infirm and not able to travel - 2nd petn by son Philip + sons-in-law Wm Mylrea (Lonan) + Wm Castyl (Lezayre) that they were not notified and want the will set aside; will written post decease (d 2 Jan 1817); gson Wm Quilliam (half his sheep); wife Margt (his share of corn mill known as Mullin Noa) exex; petn by Philip Fargher + John Fargher that testator considerably indebted to them and also protest re non-cupative will - went to later court but no obvious decn recorded with will
